Pastor Mark & Beth Harris
I was born in Winston Salem, NC. I surrendered to the ministry in 1987 as a Youth Minister and became
Senior Pastor in 1989. Beth and I met at Appalachian State and were married during the summer of 1987.
Beth and I have three beautiful children Laura (sophomore at Appalachian State) John (senior at The McCallie School)
and Matthew (sophomore at The McCallie School). I was called by First Baptist Charlotte to serve as
Pastor in May of 2005.

Where do you hope to experience Spiritual Growth in the coming year?
Continue in developing vision in particular executing the 7 pillars which represent the core values of our church.
What do you appreciate most about the people of FBC?
I appreciate our people’s overwhelming love and concern for souls. The support and encouragement I
receive as their Pastor and their unending intersession for me and my family.
What is in your IPod right now?
iPod? What is an iPod?! (I am technically challenged)
What was your most memorable vacation?
Hiking the Grand Canyon with our whole family
Who is your hero?
Jesus because of who He is and what He did. My earthly hero is my Dad.
What is your favorite thing to do in Charlotte?
I love attending Panthers games when some wonderful person offers me tickets
