First Baptist Church is a family of believers who have come together to follow Jesus Christ and to share His love throughout Charlotte and the entire world. Anyone who will be in agreement with our beliefs and mission may present themselves for membership in one of the following ways:

Profession of Faith:
When a person accepts Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, thus becoming a new Christian, they may request membership by publicly professing their faith and asking for baptism. If a person is a Christian but has not been baptized by immersion, they may request membership through baptism.

Transfer of Letter:
If a Christian is a member of another Baptist Church, they may request membership by asking that we accept them into our fellowship on promise of letter confirming their membership in a sister church. The Church Office contacts the sister church and requests the letter for transfer of membership.

Statement of Faith and Previous Baptism:
If a person is a Christian but not a member of a Baptist church, they may request membership by giving testimony of having accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and having been previously baptized as a believer by immersion.
