Dear Baptist Children's Homes friend,

Thanksgiving is here and my list of things to be grateful for has grown so much. As a resident of Broyhill Home, you have provided me with a safe and healthy environment and a future filled with hope.

My life before coming to Broyhill was heading down a path of self destruction. Our family was tossed around by Hurricane Katrina, both physically and emotionally. I had broken relationships with my grandmother, father and step-mother, no self-esteem and was failing in school.

Baptist Children's Home was my lifeline, but I didn't realize that in the beginning. After accepting Christ as my savior on November 20, 2009, I began to understand what unconditional love was. I began to accept that the house parents and staff were here to help me.

One of the things that amazes me most is how many people across the state of North Carolina have prayed for me and given of their money to provide for me. Bike for Change helped make a difference in my life and the lives of other kids. To say thank you just isn't enough. But from the bottom of my heart it is all I have.
