Encouraging healthy living by joining hands, surrendering our hearts, and placing our hope in Christ.
In 2009, the Congregational Health Ministry joined forces with the adults, ages 55 and over, to form the 55+CH ministry. This exciting partnership has resulted in greater opportunities for adults at First Baptist Church as we seek Biblical truths and outreach opportunities.
55+CH opportunities include:
- Congregational Health Ministry
- Harbor of Hope
- Trips
- Fun Mondays
Congregational Health Ministry
Since July 2003, the Congregation Health Ministry team, made up of volunteer registered nurses, pharmacists, health educators and lay people, has partnered with children, youth and adults in three areas:
Harbor of Hope
The mission of Harbor of Hope cancer ministry of First Baptist Church Charlotte is to offer love, compassion, support, and hope in Jesus to anyone who has been touched by cancer either as a survivor, a current patient, a caregiver, or is in grief over the loss of a loved one or friend. The support group meets on the second Wednesday of each month. Meeting topics rotate between spiritual and medical emphases, incorporating speakers and small group discussion.
Trips
A study of adults 55 and older indicated those with socialization are healthier than those who feel isolated.
